Treatment Options

Able To Change Recovery alcohol and drug rehab program offers Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Extended Care and Intensive Outpatient treatment programs.

We believe that one of the most vital functions of our alcohol rehab and drug rehab program is the care planning; it is the individual’s road map to recovery. The individual, person-center, interdisciplinary care plan is a practical, understandable tool that the individual, his/her family, and our team of clinicians utilize to steer the course throughout the journey of recovery. It is the focal point of each session with the individual and includes personally defined goals along with realistic objectives that address the issues and causes of one’s addiction.

“From Start To Finish, We Walk With You On Your Journey To Recovery. If You're Willing We Are Able”

Partial Day Program

Our Partial day treatment program is where a client will typically begin their treatment episode. During this phase the clients will begin to receive the tools needed to move on to the next level of care, with a licensed counselor and case manager that they will meet with weekly, attend group therapy and develop a relapse prevention plan, complete a treatment plan and begin working on rebuilding their lives. They will also develop a support system within the recovery community and begin looking for employment while also having the structured environment that is needed for early recovery.

It is 6 days a week, 5 to 6 hours per day of programming for a total of 36 hours per week at Able to Change’s facility in San Juan Capistrano. The length of PHP will depend on the severity of your addiction and varies from person to person. In general, PHPs usually run for 2-4 weeks, but it can be more or less depending on your situation. This gives our client’s the time needed to begin to discover what goals they want to achieve and gives the clinical team the time to work with them to achieve these goals.

Rehab Activities

Clients participate in physical activity attending the gym 6 days a week as well as participating in local outside 12-Step meetings in the community.

Addiction Treatment Phase II

Intensive Outpatient Program

By offering a flexible IOP schedule we can accommodate almost any schedule, we offer morning, daytime and evening time options. This is usually 3 hours a day for 5 to 3 days a week. At Able to Recovery Center, we realize that every person is different. Our Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to meet your unique needs. The length of the IOP will depend on the severity of your addiction and any co-occurring mental health problems. In general, IOPs usually run for 8 weeks, but it can be more or less depending on your situation.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program integrates employment and/or school activities into the clients treatment plan. In this phase, the client will begin accepting responsibilities in the community and begin making the gradual transition from the program to the community. Intensive outpatient therapy involves participating in at least 9 hours of outpatient sessions per week.

This provides our clients the opportunity to start practicing their new skills at home. They can start to anticipate problems and concerns they may have while being at home, and can address these in their therapy sessions.

Long Term Outpatient Services

Long-term outpatient treatment is also ideal for individuals who have already undergone the earlier phases of clinical care. Our long-term outpatient program is designed for clients who have achieved a period of sobriety and would like to continue with engagement in the program by working with their clinician until they feel secure and ready to exit the program. Our outpatient program will include programing 1 to 2 days a week for a total of 3 to 6 hours a day. This phase typically lasts for between 3 and 6 months depending on the unique needs of each individual client.

Because this is the final stage of clinical care it is important that all potential recovery roadblocks are worked through thoroughly and completely allowing each of our clients to heal completely before making the transition back to fully independent living. Our long-term outpatient program includes a wide range of recovery-related resources geared towards equipping each and every one of our clients with the tools, skills and coping mechanisms he or she needs to maintain solid and fulfilling sobriety for the remainder of his or her life.

We Offer A Family Program

We recognize addiction as a “family disease” and believe that the family component is an integral part of the addict/alcoholic maintaining their sobriety. Our more intensive family program is available for client’s who have completed a minimum of 2 weeks in the program, and is facilitated once a month. Our “Intensive Family Group” is a full day opportunity for families and friends to learn about addiction, treatment, and recovery, as well as how families are affected by addiction and the post treatment environment.

Contact the administration offices for more information regarding family programs and how to participate.
