Binge drinking is defined as consuming 5 or more drinks at one sitting for males and 4 or more for females.
Heavy drinking is defined as 5 or more drinks in one sitting at least 5 times a month.
The six levels of alcohol use are:
Abstinence - nonuse
Experimentation - use for curiosity with no subsequent drug-seeking behavior.
Social/Recreational Use - sporadic infrequent drug-seeking behavior with no established pattern.
Habituation - established pattern of use with no major negative consequences.
Abuse - continued use despite negative consequences.
Addiction - compulsion to use, inability to stop, major life dysfunction with continued use.

The administrative offices and Chemical Dependency Treatment Center is located in the coastal community of SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, California. The center is the central hub for our residential and outpatient treatment programs. The center provides our clients with a professional and comforting environment for admissions, assessments, individual and group counseling, case management, and resources.
